Use a Template to Create More Layouts

With December here it's time to think about what photos we want to take and if there are any fun activities we'll do. And we want to preserve those memories so that we can look back on them. I've used the Beary Christmas suite to create this page from December 2022. They are pictures of before and during a snow storm. We didn't receive as much snow as they called for.

Do You Use Traditional Colours on Scrapbook Layouts?

Do you have certain colours you use the most when creating Christmas pages? Such as reds and greens? Or do you pick non-traditional colours? Using classic or traditional colors can give your scrapbook pages a festive and timeless feel. But switching out the colours to what could be non-traditional colours is also an option.

Create a Halloween Scrapbook Layout

I'm not one for a spooky Halloween but I love carving pumpkins! The fun and bright colours are pulled from the Stargazing designer series paper (DSP). And you can create your own fun Jack O'Lanterns using the Pick of the Patch bundle.

Create a Harvest Scrapbook Layout

This week on Facebook I asked you what fall activity pictures do you like taking the most? The fall leaves, apple picking, the pumpkin patch or the garden harvest. For someone like me, who's favourite season is autumn, it can be hard to pick which one! Maybe you pick based on how many photos you've taken of each one! The one with the most photos taken wins? So far this fall the most photos would be produce from our garden.

Yes, it's Really Christmas Paper on an Autumn Layout

Autumn is my favourite time of year! And I take lots of landscape photos to celebrate the colour of the season. These photos might be from a long time ago (1997, it feels weird starting a year with 19 after typing 20) but they are the photos I want to remember.

Fall Pocket Page Inspiration!

Happy Thanksgiving to us Canadians this weekend! As the days get shorter and the leaves fall a great way to relax is to save your photos and memories in pocket pages. Slip your photos into the pockets then fill in the rest of the pockets with either designer series paper or cardstock.

How to Craft a Second Page

When we have more photos it means we can create a second coordinating layout! When I create two page scrapbook layouts one page will have the title and the second page will have journaling to give details on the date or what is happening in the photos. Today's layout is the right side of a two-page layout.

Some Designer Series Paper Has Images You Can Cut Out

Did you know that there are pack of Stampin' Up DSP with images you can cut out? They are great to use to embellish your layout and work with the coordinating stamp set too! Today's scrapbook layout has hand cut images from the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper. Aren't they adorable?

Have you found inspiration from Facebook or from someone's cards to create your scrapbook layouts?

Travel Scrapbook Layout with Multiple Photos using 6" x 6" Paper

Do you have photos of travelling by vehicle? This layout could be used for pictures taken of who is in the vehicle with you or maybe snacks you've enjoyed along the way. How about your dog or kids asleep? Scrapbooking the how we got there memories is fun whether you're traveling for vacation, to visit family or moving!

Christmas in August? Of Course, There's New Stampin' Up! Products!

It might be August but with new products I just had to create a Christmas scrapbook layout to share the new products with you! These pictures are from the big stack of 2011 photos I've been working my way through and the snowy tree picture works so well with the blue tree pattern of the A Walk in the Forest designer series paper.

How to Match a New Layout to a Complete Layout Without the Same Products?

If you're the type of scrapbooker like I am, you have unfinished scrapbook layouts from trips or events that you'd like to complete but it's always someday! These four photos were part of the big patch of photos I printed earlier this year from 2011 and they were from our camping trip. I had 3 other pages already created of that anniversary camping trip and wanted to make sure these pictures were added. The problem? I no longer have the same designer series paper or stamp & dies that I used on the other layouts.

Are you someone who wants to scrapbook photos the same year they were taken? I want to be that person too, but am seldom not! But this scrapbook layout using puppy pictures of Flynn from earlier this year is helping me reach that goal. Using cute photos to create your scrapbook layout is a great way to start. I find it easier to start with the photos so that I can match designer series paper and colours to the photos.

Ever wondered how to use a sketch when you don't have the same sized photos as what the sketch calls for? Inspiration is great to have on hand from sketches but sometimes the photos I want to scrapbook don't fit exactly to what is laid out on the sketch. But if you like the sketch you can always switch up the photo size or even flip the layout around. A note about using different photo sizes than what is shown on the sketch, you might need to change the size of other designer series paper or cardstock in the sketch to match the larger or small photo. For my scrapbook layout, the smaller square photo didn't require any other changes other than the photo mat.

These photos are from the day we picked our puppy Flynn from the litter of 12 puppies. There are more photos and some video I took that day but these 3 are the ones I wanted to scrap of that day. Plus taking pictures of puppies is hard to do, they move so fast! But what to do with 3 portrait photos? They were all portrait since I used my phone and didn't think to take any landscape photos. How do you arrange that many portrait photos on one page without trimming them down?

After sorting my large order of photos that arrived last week these fishing photos just needed to be scrapbooked! Sometimes you know what photos you want to scrapbook but other times you may not have either photos printed or taken yet. For either one, you can start with the scrapbook sketch. This 3 photo layout is one of my favourite to use and can be found in my 3 Fun Scrapbooking Sketches. To receive the sketches sign up by visiting http://Subscribe.FromWhereIStamp.ca.

When you sit down to scrapbook one of the hardest decisions can be what design the scrapbook layout could be. Using a scrapbook layout you've created before can help you create your next layout. In this week's layout video I shared a layout created for last month's team meeting that I used as inspiration then created the Thunder scrapbook layout. This left-side page scrapbook layout is also one of my free sketches you receive when you sign up for my email list: http://Subscribe.FromWhereIStamp.ca

The Naturally Gilded 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper looked really pretty in the online store and I thought I could use it for some neat scrapbook layouts. But when I first opened the pack to create a layout I was stumped! A great tip to remember when you're not sure what layout design to use, sign up to receive my free 3 Fun Scrapbook Sketches to use one of the sketches with inspiration to create your scrapbook layout or you can look back at previous layouts you've made for inspiration. I found a layout created in 2017 when Lemon Lime Twist was one of the In Colors. It was paired with Basic Black, Basic White and a dark green (I chose Shaded Spruce). I'll post the photo of the inspiration below.

Griffin's birthday is coming up really soon! He turns 11 on May 1 and he is the best dog ever! Since his birthday is the next one in the family it was the best opportunity to create a layout to not only be ready to print the photos and add them with some journaling but to use new products! The Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" designer series paper has some fun designs and contains 10 of the 11 new core colours. The stripe band was created using two pieces of the designer series paper and the two smaller photo layers are from the same pack. The larger photo layer is Blueberry Bushel cardstock. This layout is one of my 3 Fun Scrapbook Sketches and you can receive them here: http://Subscribe.FromWhereIStamp.ca

With Easter fast approaching, make sure to create a few layouts ahead of time to make saving those memories easier! Then you know whether you need landscape or portrait photos to put onto your pages when you are snapping cute photos Easter weekend.
