Geese with New Horizon Card
March 01, 2022
in card, Designer Series Paper, Thank you, Variety
The New Horizons designer series paper (DSP) is so gorgeous! The watercoloured horizon scenes were handpainted by one of Stampin' Up!'s talented artisans. On the opposite side are watercoloured splotches that can work for layers on your next project. For these simple cards you need very little in supplies. Perfect cards if you do not have a die cutting machine. With the variety of designs in this DSP pack you could mix up the colours and designs. I've used Gray Granite and Basic Black cardstock but you could switch up the card base depending on your favourite colour in the designer series paper.
Awesome Otter in the Water
February 26, 2022
in Birthday, Blends, card, Designer Series Paper, Variety
To show off this Awesome Otter I went digging through my designer series paper looking for something that would inspire a card. I keep my DSP in big zipper bags in a drawer. Pretty sure I pulled out all the packs I have and didn't like any that I saw! Have you been that way? Went looking for something but then nothing works for what you imagined or wanted? No? Just me? Then I remembered the Stampin' Up! order that arrived last week with the Abstract Beauty 4" x 6" designer series paper.
Sailing Home Lighthouse Card
February 22, 2022
in card, die cutting, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Thank you
This week I'm sharing projects with a water theme. Today's card was created using inspiration from my upline, Lisa Henderson. Each month she gives her team a creative and business challenge with different themes or ideas. A great way to keep us crafting and maybe try something new! For this month's creative challenge we needed to create a project inspired by the beach using the colours Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Silver. For silver the Silver Foil Specialty pack was perfect to provide 3 different shades behind the image along with a strip of Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. I had a hard time figuring out where the Coastal Cabana would fit but I'm ok with it being the card base colour, I think. Sometimes its easier to roll with using a colour as the base even if you think it might be wrong. What do you think? Was Coastal Cabana the correct one to use as my card base or should I have used a different colour?
Rainbow Of Happiness Card
February 12, 2022
in Birthday, card, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, Punches, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Techniques, Variety
What do you think of the bright pink and mango with the softer blues and greens on this card? It makes me think of a stormy day then the sun pops out from behind the thundering clouds, creating a beautiful rainbow overhead. The blue clouds aren't stamped but found in the Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper. And you can punch the clouds out using the Cloud Punch.
Awesome Otters Birthday Card

in Birthday, Blends, card, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Videos
The New Horizon designer series paper (DSP) is one of my favourite packs of paper right now. My second favourite is the Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper! Do you have a favourite pack?
The designs in the New Horizon DSP are of gorgeous sunset or sunrise landscape scenes. But on the opposite side or back side of the landscape designs are watercolour wash designs that look like water or clouds or fog. It was perfect to use for this card to make it look like the background is water. The otter can float along holding the cute little fish.
Cozy Card Using In The Moment Stamp Set
January 25, 2022
in card, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, embossing, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Variety
I missed seeing the cute little dog curled up beside the book reading lady when I first saw the In The Moment stamp set! He's so cute. Going to call it a him since I have a chocolate brown boy Cocker Spaniel. This card makes me picture the two of us curled up on a cold winter's day. Although I might just have a blanket wrapped around Griffin too.
Birthday Card Using Christmas Designer Series Paper
December 28, 2021
in Birthday, card, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, Stampin' Cut & Emboss
Although Christmas is over you likely, as I do, have Christmas designer series paper leftover. What to do with the pretty paper? A few ideas:
- Create a few more Christmas cards to send. Yes, send cards after Christmas to anyone you missed! They will enjoy receiving them.
- Make a project or cards to use next year.
- If you didn't finish that home décor piece before the holidays? Complete it now so it's ready for next year!
- Use the designer series paper and photos that you took or that were shared with you and create scrapbook layouts. Make sure to send the photos off to be printed.
- Some designs can be used to create thank you or birthday cards!
Coolest Penguin Place Card Idea
December 12, 2021
in card, Embossing Folder, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Variety
Such lovely sentiments in the Penguin Place stamp set. This card I've used the "To the coolest friend ever" stamp but instead of stamping it as one piece I've split it up onto 2 lines. There are a few ways you can do that: use a Stampin' Write Marker to colour the section of words you want to stamp each time, cut apart the stamp to create 2 pieces, or you could use a sticky note to mask words that you don't want to touch the ink pad then remove the sticky note and stamp. Have you tried any of these techniques?

Hello! In today's Pretty Cards & Paper November blog hop you will see projects made with the Peaceful Place designer series paper.
The gorgeous metallic accents in the Peaceful Place specialty designer series paper will help your projects pop! Included in this 12" x 12" pack of paper are 12 sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. One side of each has some metallic accents such as falling snow or woodgrain. Although this paper is monochromatic including Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate you could colour in the sheets to change the look or stamp on the white portions.
Use Designer Series Paper Instead of Stamping - Whimsy & Wonder DSP
November 16, 2021
in card, Christmas, Designer Series Paper, Holidays, Techniques
Have you used designer series paper instead of stamping for the focal point of your card or project? Stampin' Up!'s Whimsy & Wonder 12" x 12" specialty designer series paper has some beautiful images you can cut out using your Paper Snips and some of the designs might fit in the Christmas Tree Dies. The presents are from one of the designs in this pack and have silver accents mostly on the ribbon. Added to the card was a piece of white Baker's Twine and a few Polished Pink jewels to highlight the ivy. For this card the 'tis the season is stamped (found in the Christmas to Remember stamp set) but you can choose any sentiment you have on hand, either stamped or cut from a sheet of DSP if you have a pack with words.
How to Add Ink Using Sponge Daubers
November 13, 2021
in card, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, OnStage, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Variety
Today was day 3 of Stampin' Up!'s OnStage! What is OnStage? It is a 3-day event, usually in-person but held virtually this year. Demonstrators that attend see the new catalogue early, are able to order select products from the new catalogue, be inspired by the stamping presentations and learn from other demonstrators. Did you catch some of the sneak peaks of new products I shared over on Instagram? I'm not sure if I'm more excited for the Awesome Otters Sale-A-Bration stamp set or the Rainbow of Happiness bundle! You'll be able to see both of them next week when my order arrives!!!! So fun!
Global Stamping Friends - Snowflakes
November 05, 2021
in Blog Hop, card, Christmas, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, Holidays, Stampin' Cut & Emboss
Welcome to November's Global Stamping Friends blog hop. Today we are sharing projects with a snowflake theme and the best snowflake item in the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue is the Peaceful Place Specialty designer series paper. The gorgeous metallic accents in this pack of paper makes this card pop!
Stampin' Up!'s Biggest Wish stamp set is one of my favourite sets, especially for creating cards and is a great stamp set to add to a beginner's and an avid crafter's collection. With the 2 different fonts you can mix and match the words together or use one word by itself.
Bat Card Using Banner Year and Hand-Penned Memories & More
October 30, 2021
in card, die cutting, Holidays, Memories & More, Variety
Stampin' Up!'s Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack wasn't one I thought to use for Halloween crafting but this week I've shared projects using a variety of Memories & More card packs and I just had to make this one for an Instagram Reel using the It's Frickin' Bats audio. This card pack has a few Halloween colours: Pale Papaya, Garden Green and Mint Macaron. This card pack has some flowery designs but I covered up most of the design with a Garden Green die-cut.
What A Year Thanks Card
October 26, 2021
in #SimpleStamping, card, Memories & More, Thank you
I overlooked Stampin' Up!'s What A Year Memories & More card pack in the Annual Catalogue, mostly because it had pink in it! Do you ever decide something isn't for you based solely on the colour? There is a demonstrator Facebook page that I belong to where another demo shared a card that piqued my interested in the What A Year card pack and it was added to my next order (along with the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Card Pack).
Cute Halloween Fancy Fold Card
October 23, 2021
in card, Designer Series Paper, Holidays, Punches, Variety
At this month's team meeting my friend Tanya showed us how to make this fun fancy fold card. Her card used the Cute Halloween designer series paper as I have with this card, but she used the skull and bat designs. The ghost and house from one of the DSP pack and the sentiment is from the Banner Year stamp set. Do you think "Happy Haunting" works with the ghosts?
Pretty Cards & Paper - October
October 15, 2021
in Blog Hop, card, Christmas, Designer Series Paper, die cutting, Holidays, Pretty Cards & Paper, Stampin' Cut & Emboss
Stampin' Up!'s Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper can be found in the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue and it's a fun pack of paper to use for your wintery crafting. You could use the coordinating Whimsical Trees stamp set with this DSP but I've decided to pair the Christmas to Remember stamp set for my card today.
Snowy Peaceful Cabin Christmas Card
October 12, 2021
in card, Christmas, Designer Series Paper, Holidays
The weather here in Southeastern Ontario is currently not snowy or cold. It's the middle of October and I still have the A/C on! Not that it would be snowing but I'm hopeful that the weather stays warm that I might be able to harvest some more yellow beans from the garden before the frost kicks in. This was my reaction to uploading this picture to my blog today. What am I doing sharing Christmas cards when it's so nice outside? The main reason is to inspire you for what products you may want to craft with for the upcoming holidays as there are only 74 days to Christmas. Deep breath!
