The New Horizons designer series paper (DSP) is so gorgeous! The watercoloured horizon scenes were handpainted by one of Stampin' Up!'s talented artisans. On the opposite side are watercoloured splotches that can work for layers on your next project. For these simple cards you need very little in supplies. Perfect cards if you do not have a die cutting machine. With the variety of designs in this DSP pack you could mix up the colours and designs. I've used Gray Granite and Basic Black cardstock but you could switch up the card base depending on your favourite colour in the designer series paper.
When my husband saw these cards he said it reminded him of geese flying in the fall. Can you see the light fading and the geese flying overhead headed south for the winter? The bird stamp is not likely a goose but I think the long neck makes it look like geese. I'll leave it to you to decide, goose or not?
On both of these cards the bird stamp was stamped partially to create different looking flocks. And easy way to do that is to carefully add ink to the stamp with the ink pad or use a sticky note to cover the part of the stamp you'd like to keep clean.
The sentiments included in the On the Horizon stamp set are great as they have heartfelt greetings and different fonts. It was hard to pick one for each card. Remember the trick of inking part of a stamp from above? You can do that with sentiments as well. Ink up "relax" or "thanks" to add to your card instead of the whole sentiment.
