Welcome to a new month and new inspiration from the Global Stamping Friends blog hop! Thank you for hopping along this month as we share projects using the Outdoors theme. With the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue release this past week my project uses new products.
The In Good Taste suite is one of my many favourites in the new catalogue. The In Good Taste designer series paper is a big pack of paper - 24 double sided sheets! The images on this designer series paper are tile, wood and textures. I've used a small amount of one of the brick image designs on my card and added the stamped image of the leaves onto the right side of the paper to give the look of climbing vines.

The greeting label was die cut using the Tasteful Labels dies. These dies have either embossed edges or stitched edges depending on which die you use. If you have an older Big Shot machine like I do, I suggest using a piece of printer paper as a shim in order to achieve the embossed portion of the die cut.

The Ornate Garden specialty designer series paper has some great gold designs on white paper that are perfect to colour in. I used the Stampin' Blends in Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze to colour in the DSP with small flowers. For the main stamped focal point I stamped the large floral image onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and a piece of Mint Macaron. I punched a circle from the Mint Macaron cardstock, then cut the bottom of the flag. The Mint Macaron piece is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals to create another layer to the card. The sentiment I used is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set.

I will miss the Tropical Chic stamp set and matching Tropical Dies when they retired on June 2. These cards were fun to make and quick too. Usually for stamped images I use Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstock but it was a nice change to use a lighter colour cardstock for the leaf images. I love how I can make 2 different looking cards using coordinating products.
This card was created during my Facebook live recently. The video is below if you missed watching it. Join me next on Thursday at 7pm for my next live!

There are some wonderful sayings in the Tropical Oasis Memories & More card pack! I love the "Tropical State of Mind" saying over top of the flamingo! The 3"x4" card is layered onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cut 3.25"x4.25". The embossed strip on the note card is a 1.5"x5" Flirty Flamingo cardstock embossed with the Ornate Flowers 3D embossing folder. To highlight the embossed image I used Sponge Daubers to put Flirty Flamingo ink on the raised image. On the envelope I trimmed a leftover piece from another card to make the envelope pretty.
A 2.75"x3.5" piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock was embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder and glued to the Note card base. You could leave the cardstock plain but I love embossed cardstock! To dress up the "Love your smile" 3"x4" card I fussy cut a pineapple and banana image from another card and popped it up onto dimensionals. Behind this I put a flower punched using the Small Bloom punch (available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue) to cover up the smaller bananas and pineapple that the cut out image wasn't going to cover.

The Lily Pad Lake stamp set is one that pairs so well with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper! The Perennial Essence DSP is very Monet like and I think a lot of the designs are perfect for water scenes on cards or scrapbook pages.

These adorable and bright treat holders were thank you gifts Lisa and I created to hand out to our Crop Kingston Winter Retreat in February. We used the retiring Pineapple Punch and Call Me Clover cardstock when we die cut the images. The bag above was created using the All Dressed Up dies and the In the Tropics dies for the pineapple and leaf images. Inside the mini purse we included a package of ribbon and buttons that were available during Sale-A-Bration along with some lollipops!
This small thank you gift was created using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes box. You could add some dimension to the outside using the Subtle embossing folder or stamping on it with either Pineapple Punch or Crushed Curry ink. So many options to dress up this little package! Inside we included some small fruit candies and yes, some of them were pineapple flavoured!

I learned a new fancy fold during this month's team meeting. The card base front is folded back and trimmed a bit. Then a piece of coordinating cardstock is adhered to the flap and a piece of designer series paper is glued to the other side of the flap to create the front of the card.
This is the bottom view of the card showing the fold, the Soft Suede cardstock and the Ornate Garden Designer Series paper. A really quick and neat fancy fold card.

Scrapbook layout created as an additional inspiration project for our last Virtual Crop Kingston Crop using the Ornate Garden Suite. I was scrapbooking pictures from my Washington, DC trip when I was in Grade 9 (not going to figure out how long ago that was). Our next Virtual Crop will be on Saturday June 6th! Contact me to sign up.
Have you tried the Stamparatus yet? It makes stamping a breeze and you can do some neat techniques with it as well. The mountains on this card were stamped using the hinge technique (make sure to watch the video below to see how I did it!). You can also stamp twice in the exactly the same spot.
