The New Horizons designer series paper (DSP) is so gorgeous! The watercoloured horizon scenes were handpainted by one of Stampin' Up!'s talented artisans. On the opposite side are watercoloured splotches that can work for layers on your next project. For these simple cards you need very little in supplies. Perfect cards if you do not have a die cutting machine. With the variety of designs in this DSP pack you could mix up the colours and designs. I've used Gray Granite and Basic Black cardstock but you could switch up the card base depending on your favourite colour in the designer series paper.
Awesome Otter in the Water

To show off this Awesome Otter I went digging through my designer series paper looking for something that would inspire a card. I keep my DSP in big zipper bags in a drawer. Pretty sure I pulled out all the packs I have and didn't like any that I saw! Have you been that way? Went looking for something but then nothing works for what you imagined or wanted? No? Just me? Then I remembered the Stampin' Up! order that arrived last week with the Abstract Beauty 4" x 6" designer series paper.
Sailing Home Lighthouse Card

in card, die cutting, Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Thank you
This week I'm sharing projects with a water theme. Today's card was created using inspiration from my upline, Lisa Henderson. Each month she gives her team a creative and business challenge with different themes or ideas. A great way to keep us crafting and maybe try something new! For this month's creative challenge we needed to create a project inspired by the beach using the colours Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Silver. For silver the Silver Foil Specialty pack was perfect to provide 3 different shades behind the image along with a strip of Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. I had a hard time figuring out where the Coastal Cabana would fit but I'm ok with it being the card base colour, I think. Sometimes its easier to roll with using a colour as the base even if you think it might be wrong. What do you think? Was Coastal Cabana the correct one to use as my card base or should I have used a different colour?
Rainbow Of Happiness Card

What do you think of the bright pink and mango with the softer blues and greens on this card? It makes me think of a stormy day then the sun pops out from behind the thundering clouds, creating a beautiful rainbow overhead. The blue clouds aren't stamped but found in the Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper. And you can punch the clouds out using the Cloud Punch.
Coolest Penguin Place Card Idea

Such lovely sentiments in the Penguin Place stamp set. This card I've used the "To the coolest friend ever" stamp but instead of stamping it as one piece I've split it up onto 2 lines. There are a few ways you can do that: use a Stampin' Write Marker to colour the section of words you want to stamp each time, cut apart the stamp to create 2 pieces, or you could use a sticky note to mask words that you don't want to touch the ink pad then remove the sticky note and stamp. Have you tried any of these techniques?
