The snow started to fall this afternoon! It's very pretty when I can sit in my craft room, watch it collect on the truck in the driveway and don't have to leave the house. Have you had your first snow storm of this season? Days like today was my inspiration when stamping the snowflakes onto the wood design paper from the In Good Taste designer series paper. The snowflakes are from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, stamped using Versamark ink and heat set with Whisper White embossing powder.
My upline organized a mailed team Swap in December. Swaps are fun to participate in! For my card I used the Lily Pad stamp set and the Lily Impressions designer series paper on my card, both are products that can be earned for free during Sale-A-Bration.

I stamped the backside of the lily stamp first using Rich Razzelberry ink and then once dry, emboss the lily image in gold.

Can you choose between the lighter So Saffron or the brighter Daffodil Delight as your favourite? Me, I cannot decide, I like them both!

Happy Christmas in July! Last week was the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to the Greek Isles. While I didn't earn the trip it was fun to watch other demonstrators from around the world share pictures of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. It put me in the Christmas spirit and I knew that a Christmas card would be a perfect swap card for Sunday's team meeting!

My brother gave me the Dashing Deer stamp set for Christmas last year and I believe this is the first time I've used it! When first looking at the stamp set I thought the doe and buck were one stamp but they are not, but they are perfectly sized to work together. I used the Stamparatus to stamp all my images since I was making 3 cards. It allowed me to get the stamped images to show up in just the right spot on all of my swaps.

Supplies
Stamps: Dashing Deer, Buffalo Check background
Colours: Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacock, Very Vanilla, Gold
Accessories: Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder, Layering Oval dies, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamparatus

Christmas Lodge

December 19, 2012 in , ,
Today's card was one I entered to Stampin' Up! for a contest and it didn't win so I thought I would share it with you! For the main image of this card I first embossed both the image and the sentiment in Early Esspresso before using the Big Shot and Labels framelit die to cut out the image. Framelits are great because you can see what part you are cutting out - but always stamp first then cut!

Supplies
Stamps: Christmas Lodge, More Merry Messages
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, First Edition Designer Series Paper, Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Simply Scored, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Big Shot, Labels Framelits, Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder

Poppies!

November 08, 2012 in , ,
I love Cajun Craze Poppies, aren't they fabulous? When I started with Riding Hood Red I knew I wanted to keep in the same colour collection. Stampin' Up! makes it really easy by having colours in collections, they work together so well!

The poppies are embossing in black on water colour paper. Then using Stampin' Write Markers to colour in the images, going over the areas where you want to highlight the poppies. Make sure to leave some white space on the poppies for added dimension! Finish the center of some of the poppies with Early Espresso and colour in the stems using Always Artichoke.

Supplies
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink/Markers: Riding Hood Red, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Versamark
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Water colour paper
Accessories: Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Designer Button, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Modern Label Punch, Black Embossing Powder Big Shot, Labels Framelits, Chevron Textured Impressions Folder

I also used a Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker to highlight the stems.
Supplies
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Versamark, White Craft Ink, Platinum Shimmer Paint, Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, Glue Dots, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Paint brush, Pewter Embossing Powder

It finally dawned on me yesterday that Valentine's Day is Tuesday! Really this close already? So I started with 2 special Valentine's for my nephews. The first one started with a Maze Game from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalogue. You know the maze games where the little ball travels to the center? Great little game for kids of all ages!

First I made the scallop square that the Maze Game would end up being stuck to. I took a piece of Basic Grey card stock and a piece of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper and stuck them together with a piece of the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive. So then I have a 2 sided piece of card stock/DSP which is then cut with the Big Shot and the larger square on the Scallop Squares Duo die.
On the back I put a stamped heart and a little message. The circles on the Twitterpated DSP were the perfect size to hold all the letters! On the front the Maze Game is adhered with Sticky Strip.
For my youngest nephew I created this little card using the same colour scheme. So adorable! Since this little guy is still young there is no maze game on this card.

Supplies
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sprinkled Expressions (SAB)
Ink: Versamark, Island Indigo, Basic Grey
Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Twitterpatted Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Word Window Punch, Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Maze Game, Big Shot, Labels Framelits, Scallop Squares Duos die, Square Lattice Textured Folder

This month's Creative Crew DSP focus was to use any holiday themed Designer Series Paper on our project. Started with a 5x7 canvas, adhered a piece of the Spice Cake DSP to it with a piece of the Big Shot Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheet. The leaves were stamped onto pieces of Spice Cake DSP and First Edition DSP, then embossed with the new Pewter Embossing powder. The leaves were then attached with the new mini cloths pins onto Hemp Twine.

Supplies
Stamps: Autumn Splendor, Woodgrain, Falling Leaves
Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, First Edition Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Mini Cloths Pins, Pewter Embossing Powder, Hemp Twine, Sticy Strip, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Big Shot Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheets

This is my 2nd favourite entry, you'll see my 1st fav later! I love the Night of Navy flowers! Onto watercolour paper the flower was embossed in white, then using a mixture of Night of Navy ink refill and Shimmer Pain in Frost White each flower was painted. It creates a sparkly blue flower. For the Crumb Cake flowers: they are embossed in white, then spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Before shipping this one away I made 2 more copies, one for myself and the other for the bride and groom!

Supplies
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Curly Cute
Ink: Night of Navy, Whisper Write, Shimmer Paint Frost White, Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Ink refill, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker, Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker

My mother bought the Have a Seat stamp set and then asked me for inspiration! This set was kinda hard to get an idea for. As usual I searched the Internet for inspiration, checked out what other Demonstrators had posted on Stampin' Connection and then hid in my stamp room for awhile trying out different colours and layouts. And this is what I came up with. There are 3 other chair images in this set that did not get inked yet so I might have to revisit this one again.

Supplies
Stamps: Have a Seat, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Green House Gala designer series paper
Accessories: Word window punch, Basic Black embossing powder, Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon, pearls, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions folder

It's snowy outside! Wow the schools are closed and the place I work for is actually closed! I work with my family and we're never closed. But today my grandparent's thought it was too dangerous to go to work so home we all stay!

Now I have not made it to my studio yet today but I wanted to share a card I made a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday. For this card I started with a piece of Woodland Walk designer series paper and decided to go for a monochromatic look. The strip of Garden Green was first stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp, then the pine tree from Lovely As A Tree was embossed with gold.

Supplies
Stamps: Lovely As a Tree, Short and Sweet, Woodgrain background
Ink: Garden Green, Versamark
Paper: Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Woodland Walk designer series paper
Accessories: Very Vanilla seam binding, decorative label punch, gold embossing powder, sticky strip

Father's Plane

January 29, 2011 in ,
This card would be perfect for my dad for Father's Day except I showed it to him already! Growing up my dad took flying lessons and achieved his pilots license! I remember going flying with him a few times, watching the little houses and seeing my little corner of country from way up high!

Inspiration came from Splitcoaststampers January Creative Crew Challenge. The challenge was to use new items from the Occasions Mini catalogue. Plane and Simple was the perfect place to start! The compass is embossed in black and I cut the Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon in half, then pulled a few strings off to get that frayed edge. The dashes and triangle border had Bashful Blue then Not Quite Navy ink put onto the stamp before stamping.

Supplies
Stamps: Plane and Simple
Ink: Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Versamark
Paper: Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, First Edition Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Night of Navy 1-1/4" grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip, stampin' dimensionals, word window punch, Black embossing powder

O Christmas Tree how beautiful your branches! This tree is embossed with Iridescent Ice to create a little sparkle! I used Versamark and Classic Inks (see my tutorial here for how to do this). And I love those Rhinestones, they have an adhesive on the back so they pop onto a card really easily!

Supplies
Stamps: Snow Swirled
Ink: Crumb Cake, Versamark, Stampin' Write marker: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Very Vanilla 5/8" satin ribbon, sticky strip, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, stampin' dimensionals, rhinestones

Merry Christmas!

Joy to the World!

December 02, 2010 in , ,
Joy to the World! I was inspired by Jackie Wright and her beautiful card. At first I was going to completely case her card, but my mom needed ideas for Christmas cards and at the time neither my mother nor I owned the French Foliage stamp set. This card is versatile though, I think I ended up tearing off the sentiment and adding a birthday one instead and sent it to my brother-in-law. Shh don't tell anyone, okay?

Supplies
Stamps: Autumn Splendor, Jolly Jingles Jumbo wheel
Ink: Old Olive, Versamark, Stampin Write Marker: Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Brights Collection Designer Paper
Accessories: Gold embossing powder, scallop trim punch, decorative label punch, stampin' dimensionals, Vanilla seam binding

Merry Christmas

Sparkly Medallion

November 29, 2010 in , ,
Can you see the sparkle? This technique uses the Smooch Spritz with Versamark and it looks so cool! The sparkle would look really neat with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz as well.

How to: Ink up your stamp with Versamark, then before stamping spray with Vanilla Mist Smooch Spritz and stamp. Cover your stamped image with clear embossing powder and watch the sparkle emerge!

Supplies
Stamps: Medallion, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Versamark, Baja Breeze
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Vanilla Mist Smooch Spritz, Victoria lace, clear embossing powder, Big Shot, Top Note Die
