Showing posts with label Christmas
Happy Christmas in July! Last week was the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to the Greek Isles. While I didn't earn the trip it was fun to watch other demonstrators from around the world share pictures of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. It put me in the Christmas spirit and I knew that a Christmas card would be a perfect swap card for Sunday's team meeting!

My brother gave me the Dashing Deer stamp set for Christmas last year and I believe this is the first time I've used it! When first looking at the stamp set I thought the doe and buck were one stamp but they are not, but they are perfectly sized to work together. I used the Stamparatus to stamp all my images since I was making 3 cards. It allowed me to get the stamped images to show up in just the right spot on all of my swaps.

Supplies
Stamps: Dashing Deer, Buffalo Check background
Colours: Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacock, Very Vanilla, Gold
Accessories: Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder, Layering Oval dies, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamparatus

I so love the truck from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set!

I coloured in the truck and tree using a blender pen. The effect makes it look like an old farm truck that the sun has faded the paint so I added a few rust spots! Unfortunately, it reminds me of my rusty truck!

Supplies
Stamps: Farmhouse Christmas
Colours: Crumb Cake, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bliss
Accessories: All is Bright designer series paper, Farmhouse Framelits, 1/4" Copper Trim, Gold Faceted Gems, Blender Pen

September 08, 2018 in , ,

Supplies
Stamps: Timeless Tidings
Colours: Shaded Spruce, Basic Black
Accessories: Under the Mistletoe designer series paper, Real Red Stampin' Blends

Snowflake Decoration

December 07, 2017 in ,
A few months ago I saw on both Pinterest and something that Stampin' Up! had shared about decorating a star with similar elements that I have on this snowflake. Couldn't find a star but I think the snowflake looks even better! The snowflake is about 11" x 11", maybe a bit smaller. The JOY card is mounted on a piece of chipboard (I keep the chipboard that comes inside each of the photo pocket page zipper bags for projects like this). The size is 3.25" x 2.75".

To assemble I used hot glue. It took some time to lay it out ahead of time and then make sure that the card would sit right on top of all the elements and not cover anything. This one will be a present but I have another one made with a different type of snowflake that will hang at my house this month.

Supplies
Stamps: none
Colours: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Large Letter Framelits, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Green Sprigs, Mini Silver Ornaments, Gold Metallic Snowflakes, chipboard from inside packaging of the photo pocket pages. Red holly berries and chipboard snowflake (both not Stampin' Up!)

The piece of Wood Textured Designer Series Paper with the embossing paste trees has been sitting on my desk for too long... since the September crop maybe? The great thing about embossing paste is that you can create your own masks to use with it! Made mine by using a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out the trees using the Card Front Builder tree framelits and the Big Shot. If you wanted to create a mask that is reusable I would suggest using a piece of Window Sheet (something that's on my to do list!).

After trimming down the designer series paper I stamped the main image with Versamark and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. Stamped the flower and leaves, put everything thru the Big Shot and put together! Definitely will be one of the cards I'll be sending out for Christmas!

Supplies
Stamps: Carols of Christmas
Colours: Copper, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Accessories: Card Front Builder Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Embossing Paste, Stampin' Dimensionals, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, Versamark, Copper Embossing Powder

Bermuda Bay Christmas Card

November 16, 2017 in ,

This colour combo is not traditional but I love it! Found a card similar to this one with this colour scheme on Pinterest. I think I will make some more of these cards to sell at my craft fairs that are coming up soon! Join me Nov 26 at the RCAFA Club at Norman Rogers Airport, Dec 2 at the Battersea United Church and Dec 3 at the Selby Hall.

Did you see the announcement on Monday from Stampin' Up! about the Stamparatus? It's an awesome new stamp positioning tool that I was able to see at Onstage in Salt Lake City last week! Today at 4pm EST you can reserve yours by logging in to the online store. See below for directions on how you can reserve yours!

Supplies
Stamps: Carols of Christmas
Colours: Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Lemon Lime Twist
Accessories: Card Front Builder Dies

Day 3 already! Time has flown by. It has been so much fun here in Salt Lake City. I am looking forward to being home again with my husband and dog but sad to leave all my friends and fun here at OnStage!

My third and final swap is a Christmas card featuring a stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue. The Hearts Come Home stamp set is so perfect for this time of year! This is the first one I made as a full card to see if I liked the design. You might notice under the houses there is glitter, I put a swipe of Wink of Stella to create a snow base but then forgot to add it to my swaps!

Supplies
Stamps: Hearts Come Home
Colours: Pool Party, Dapper Denim, Island Indigo
Accessories: Wood Textured Designer Series Paper Stack, Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Wink of Stella

Vellum Snowflake

October 27, 2017 in , ,
My Up line hosted a Shoebox swap earlier this month and this is the card I had prepped for us to make. The Drink and be Merry stamp actually says Eat, Drink and be Merry but we used a sticky note to cover the "eat," part of the stamp since it would not fit into the circle. To adhere the vellum to the card we used Tear & Tape Adhesive behind the circles and a Mini Glue Dot behind the Rhinestones. That way you don't see the adhesive thru the vellum!

Supplies
Stamps: Merry Little Labels
Colours: Basic Black, Tranquil Tide, Smokey Slate, Real Red foil sheet, Vellum
Accessories: Layering Circles thinlits, Silver Mini Sequin Trim, Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Folder, Merry Little Christmas designer series paper, Rhinestone jewels

~ Amanda
Here are 2 cards I designed to showcase the Merry Patterns stamp set for a demonstrator meeting earlier this month. I created the same card twice but the second card is a stepped up version. On the above card the sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and then Cherry Cobbler Ink.

The sentiment on the second card is stamped with Versamark ink and embossed in gold. As an additional embellishment the punched image of holly and berries was added. After making the second card I noticed that the cards looked different since the designer series paper around the edge is more white than black. Both were cut from the same sheet but different sides. It's strange!

Supplies
Stamps: Merry Patterns
Colours: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Basic Black
Accessories: Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, Holly & Berries punch, Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink

The Carols of Christmas stamp set from the Merry Little Christmas suite is perfect for creating a lot of projects, especially cards with the matching Card Builder framelit set. I will be using this stamp set along with the other products in this suite a lot this year.

To make the trees sparkle I brushed some Wink of Stella over them. Only the front trees have sparkle on them to give dimension to the card. The "snow" was cut free hand.

Have you thought about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator? I'll be sharing some inspiration using this stamp set that you can get as part of your Starter Kit later this week! The starter kit is completely up to you to choose $165 worth of product for only $135 including shipping and taxes. Interested? Please contact me today!

Supplies
Stamps: Carols of Christmas
Colours: Night of Navy, Garden Green, Whisper White
Accessories: Card Front Builder Framelits, Wink of Stella, Stitched Shapes, Stampin' Dimensionals

Sparkle and Snow!

December 22, 2012 in ,
Still dealing with that Colorado low that has swept across Ontario since Thursday! I'm glad most of the snow fell north of us, but I was on the road north of Belleville this afternoon and the roads were slippery! Thank goodness my father was driving and not me. We came across 2 different accident sites, grateful none were fatalities. I do hope a little more snow falls over night and that it stays. It's great to have snow at Christmas to make it more festive - just as long as the roads are safe for everyone travelling (like me!).

Today's card has some great sparkle! The Silver Glimmer Paper definitely adds pizzazz to any card, you'll have to check back next month when I can share a birthday card I added a little of the Silver Glimmer Paper to.

Supplies
Stamps: Sweet Essentials
Ink: Island Indigo
Paper: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White
Accessories: Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, 1-1/4" Square Punch, Stampin Dimensionals, Big Shot, Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Holiday Collection Framelits

Merry Christmas!

Fab Friday 08

December 20, 2012 in ,

It's a very interesting colour combination over at Fab Friday:
When I spied this colour combo I was still trying to finish up my Christmas cards! I wasn't sure if these colours would work for me, but I took a bunch of scraps and the way they fell onto the table together inspired this card! For the triple coloured card base I started with a piece of plain printer paper cut to 5.5" x 4.25" and they layered the 3 stripes on top of the plain paper. They run the piece through the Big Shot to create the texture.

Supplies
Stamps: Snow Much Fun, More Merry Messages
Ink: Gumball Green, Real Red, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Black Stazon On
Paper: Real Red, Primerose Petals, Pool Party, Gumball Breen, Watercolour Paper
Accessories: Blender Pens, Rhinestones, 1-1/4" Square Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Lacey Brocade Textured Embossing Folder

Christmas Lodge

December 19, 2012 in , ,
Today's card was one I entered to Stampin' Up! for a contest and it didn't win so I thought I would share it with you! For the main image of this card I first embossed both the image and the sentiment in Early Esspresso before using the Big Shot and Labels framelit die to cut out the image. Framelits are great because you can see what part you are cutting out - but always stamp first then cut!

Supplies
Stamps: Christmas Lodge, More Merry Messages
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, First Edition Designer Series Paper, Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Simply Scored, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Big Shot, Labels Framelits, Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder

Christmas Cheer!

October 15, 2012 in
A cute and sweet smelling card for today: I used the Sugar and Spice embossing powder from the Holiday Catalogue so that this gingerbread guy smells like he's fresh from the oven! First I stamped the image in Versamark and then into Soft Suede before stamping on Very Vanilla card stock. And the even better part? I did not have to cut this delicious guy out by hand - there is a very cool new Holiday Collection framelits to cut this guy out!

I should have started making my Christmas cards last month, it's already the middle of October! Who else is with me? Join me on Sunday October 28th for 1pm at my home to make 10 cards. Cost is $20 and it includes envelopes. RSVP here!
