Sorry about the quality of the card picture. I was in a rush to get to the baby shower, no surprise there I'm usually running late! And this is the best photo of the 6 I took. Anyways you get the idea. The card and diaper cake were made for my sister in law who is having her first baby! Exciting!!

When I saw a diaper cake online months ago I knew I had to make one for Cindy. I used 66 diapers, one pack of baby wipes, 2 receiving blankets, four face cloths, baker's twine, and one adorable teddy bear! It took about 1.5 hours or one Twilight movie to complete it.

Supplies
Stamps: Fox and Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Certainly Celery, Soft Suede
Paper: Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Accessories: 1-1/4" Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Petite Pennants Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crimper, Sticky Strip. Big Shot, Top Note Die, Baker's Twine (on the cake)

After Convention

July 19, 2011 in
You mean it's all over already?! Those days sure go by quickly when they are filled with swaps, stamping, new friends, classes, new product and free stuff! Arrived home late last night after an all day of travel. But it was great to see my husband and my mother at the airport. After our long drive home from Toronto to Kingston my husband sent me on ahead into the house. This is what I found:

Such a sweetheart! He's started the countdown to next year for me!
Flowers for me sitting on the kitchen table, such a wonderful man!

This was another of my swaps - 16 of these were finished in the wee hours last Monday night. I waited on my delayed shipment of new paper and the new stamp until Monday afternoon so that meant Monday night was spent preparing 32 swaps.

Supplies
Stamps: Up, Up & Away
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Sahara Sand
Paper: Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, First Edition DSP, Textured Whisper White
Accessories: Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Sticky Strip, Big Shot, Two Tags Die, Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Convention Day 3

July 16, 2011 in
An early day today for the first time Convention attendees breakfast. Then off to classes. By the time I was seated in my Make 'n Take session right before lunch I felt like I needed to nap right there! After lunch I participated in Lyssa's CQS swap, so cool! All the cards were fabulous! General session was right after that. Shelli and her daughter presented some ideas for upcoming workshops. It was a blast! We were all laughing so hard!!!
Shelli and Shalae on stage!
Here's where I've been spending most of the day - Salt Palace
Picture taken in Temple Square

After General Session this afternoon I had a lot of free time! Time to put up my feet, digest some of the 850 photos taken thus far, then venture out into Salt Lake City for dinner and a walk to the beautiful and peaceful Temple Square.

Here is one of my swaps I made for Convention. As of lunch today I have done all my swaps! So many beautiful cards are now packed ready to head home to share with my customers and to use for inspiration. Being Canadian I just had to make a stamp to tell everyone where I'm from. Thanks to everyone who complimented me on my card, it's great to hear!

Supplies
Stamps: Glorious and Free
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Read Red
Paper: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Real Red Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Square Lattice Impressions Folder, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder

Convention Day 2

July 15, 2011
Whew! A very busy day today: Opening Session, 2 wonderful classes (one about My Digital Studio), a free pack of Holiday Mini Catalogues, free Simply Sent card kit, afternoon session, Awards night, after party, display boards and so much more!

Convention 2011 Theme Song - love those steal drums!

Shelli!!!!
You are all going to love the Holiday Mini Catalogue. We were given peaks at projects! This afternoon I was able to play around with some of the new product and see the beautiful paper and fabrics.

Found 3 more cards of mine on the display boards! That makes 5 in total. I think I've taken pics of all the display boards but I'm too tired to post them tonight. Anywho, my fabric postcard is the middle project on the top row - the one with the heart with ruffles:

My tree card is the middle of the top row in the next photo:
The next card (top right corner of the photo) was my submission to one of Stampin' Up!'s monthly demonstrator contests:
Now it's time for bed, I think I've started to drift off a little sitting here in the hotel lobby! Better get back to my room soon before I start to snore!

First Day of Convention!

July 14, 2011
I’m here at Convention! Yesterday was a long day getting here and even with a waylaid bag everything turned out okay. Been swapping with people every where and walking a lot. Got a chance to shop in Memento Mall this morning for some really cool things!

Leaf cardholders
Pretty shirts, I picked up the one on the right.
Almost needed one of these today!

Then I was off to get my Convention bag. This bag is gorgeous! Gotta love the embroidery in Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade! This bag even holds my laptop!

After lunch my new friends and I were off to Riverton to visit Stampin’ Up!’s home office. And no visit to the home office would be complete without having my picture taken with the rock!

I found 2 of my cards so far on the display boards. The Truck one (top right corner of the first picture) was a submission for Artisan Award and the Flower one (2nd picture, bottom middle) was a swap I made for Hamilton Regional last September. So neat to see my own work on display for everyone to view and take photos of!

Doing the last minute packing because I'm headed to Salt Lake City, Utah tomorrow for Convention! This will be a treat for me, my first Convention! I am hoping to post pictures here on my blog or over on my Facebook page From Where I Stamp while at Convention. See you all later!

 ~ Amanda
This is my 2nd favourite entry, you'll see my 1st fav later! I love the Night of Navy flowers! Onto watercolour paper the flower was embossed in white, then using a mixture of Night of Navy ink refill and Shimmer Pain in Frost White each flower was painted. It creates a sparkly blue flower. For the Crumb Cake flowers: they are embossed in white, then spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Before shipping this one away I made 2 more copies, one for myself and the other for the bride and groom!

Supplies
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Curly Cute
Ink: Night of Navy, Whisper Write, Shimmer Paint Frost White, Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Ink refill, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker, Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker

Accessories: Two Step Bird Punch , White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Brayer, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Top Note Bigz die, Paint brush

My dog Hoover. This is the first of three scrapbook pages I sent in for Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Award. For this layout I pulled colours from the fall leaves in the photos for accents. The leaves were embossed in gold onto Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Peach Parfait card stock.

Supplies
Stamps: Autumn Splendor
Ink: Versamark, Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker
Paper: Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, Early Espresso, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black

This is my last card of my non-winning Artisan Award. Stampin' Up!'s fabric is beautiful and there is even more of it in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue. Did you see the other fabric postcard I made a few months ago? Check it out here.

For this card I sewed two pieces (SU's the light blue and the large flower/white) together. Pressing the seams open I used the Big Shot Fabric Adhesive to adhere it to a piece of stiff interfacing. The Vanilla Satin Ribbon is adhered with the fabric adhesive as well.

For the heart I used a piece of SU's pink floral, fabric adhesive and a piece of non-SU cream fabric (cannot see it - but it's there for stability on the back of the heart). These were "glued" together and then cut out with the Big Shot. Sticky strip and Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon finished off the card.

Just realized that I didn't take a picture of the back of the postcard. On the other side is a piece of non-SU cream fabric adhered to the stiff interfacing with fabric adhesive as well. On the top centre of the back I stamped Postcard from the Winter Post stamp set in Stazon ink.

Supplies
Stamps: Winter Post, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Stazon Jet Black Ink Pad, Baja Breeze Ink Refill
Paper: none
Accessories:  Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric, Very Vanilla 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll, Rose Red ½” Seam Binding Ribbon, Vanilla ½” Rosette, Pearls Basic Jewels, Sticky Strip, Big Shot, Hearts and Brackets Original Die, Cream Fabric, Stiff Interfacing, Rotary Trimmer, mat and ruler, Sewing Machine and Cream Thread

Card number 4 of 5 for my non-winning Artisan Award entry. Back in January I had made a card similar to this one for my father's birthday. The most exciting part now is getting to see all the winners entries at convention next week. Hopefully some of my creations will be on the display boards. If they are I will share them here with you! So please return to view the rest of my non-winning entries. Today is one of five cards I made:

My husband and I celebrated 10 years of marriage on June 16th! Has it really been 10 years? Has it only been 10 years? I am very blessed to have this man in my life. I love him with all my heart.
My sweetheart created the following card for me. He had the chance to cut into some of the new 2011-2012 In Colors. The colour combo was my idea, I had 2 laid out on my stamp table the night he went to design my card and he decide to choose one of them. I think he did a wonderful job! Now I need to get down there to make my own card with these colours!

Next is the card I designed for him. He loves hunting, especially for deer, so I just knew I had to use the Nature Silhouettes stamp set. The always greeting is my handwriting.

We took a little camping trip to Charleston Lake Provincial Park the weekend after our anniversary. It was perfect weather! Here we are together on the boardwalk trail.

Since I spent so much time on this next project I thought I would share with you this picture of our wedding cake replica. Yummy Gum Drop cake with vanilla frosting and violet purple flowers.

This has got to be the best card ever! That piggy is just so darn cute. My husband spent two evenings working on this card for my birthday. I am so impressed that he created a punch art pig and used my Big Shot for the very first time! Inside this card was a gift card for 2 movie passes and 2 handmade ticket vouchers. You arrr invited to a movie and you arrr invited to bring a friend, so cute. Not sure what movie to see yet but I'll be taking him along with me. (Want to see how far he's gone since last year? A few techniques rolled into this one! Masking and Rock 'n Roll! The thanks was masked with a piece of sticky post-it-note punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. Then the leaves were stamped over it. After stamping the mask is pulled off and ta-da complete! The leaf stamps were first inked with More Mustard but immediately rolled around on the Cherry Cobbler ink pad - this creates the Rock 'n Roll look - before stamping onto the Very Vanilla strip of card stock..

Ink: More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla

Manitoba Flood

May 23, 2011 in

Just had to make a page about the controlled breach of the Hoop and Holler dike along the Assiniboine River in Manitoba. Had we not left Manitoba just over 3 years ago we would have been dealing with this, sand bagging, worrying about our new home and a possible evacuation. So scary.

Because there were so many pictures online I decided to make up a layout using My Digital Studio. It took me about an hour because I took a little bit to decide what photos to use first. I need to go back and make more pages still. Very easy in MDS - I selected a prearranged photo layout and went from there.

Digital Supplies
Stamps: Bliss, Texture
Colours: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Pear Pizzazz Text Designer Series Paper

Satin Ribbon Roses are so cool, although I'm not too impressed with my very first rose. Next time I think I need to have a longer piece of ribbon as my rose looks kinda plain. To get the look of the satin rose I slightly melted the ribbon with the Heat Tool. Melting the ribbon took a lot longer than I thought it would.

I just had to dive into the Creative Crew Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers for today's card. The Colour Focus for May is all Neutrals with a splash of colour. First a piece of Very Vanilla card stock was run through the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper folder then sponged with Crumb Cake to accent the raised images. To finish off the card I added a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon,  my first Ribbon Rose and lastly the sentiment.

Supplies
Stamps: Thank You Kindly
Ink: Crumb Cake
Paper: Very Vanilla
Accessories: Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Brad, Wide Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Heat Tool, Sponge, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder
