Watercolour Rooster

February 19, 2019 in ,
I love how this one turned out! Although those that sat near me at Crop Kingston's Winter retreat will remember how I detested the first watercoloured image I did! This second one turned out just the way I wanted it - and the trick was to use watercolour paper, not Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the rooster first with Memento ink and then added a light wash in each colour. After letting it dry for a few minutes I added a darker wash over certain parts of the image. To finish off the card I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits and then the Hexagons Embossing Folder to create the frame.

Colours: Lovely Lipstick, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce

Best Catch Simple Stamping

February 14, 2019 in
This card idea came to my tired brain on Friday night while I was keeping myself awake until midnight at Crop Kingston's Winter Retreat. I thought it would work for this month's simple stamping challenge from Stampin' Up! but I was wrong -  using a punch was for January's challenege. Still love how it turned out! This weekend I'll see if I can do another simple stamping card for the proper challenge!

The card base is a Delightfully Detailed Note Card. To me it looks like a foggy morning along the river where you cannot see the trees, just as the sun rises.  Perfect to use with the new Best Catch stamp set!

Supplies
Stamps: Best Catch
Colours: Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Delightfully Detailed Note Cards, Tailored Tag punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you to everyone you joined us Saturday January 26th at our first all day crop for 2019! We raised $50 to donate to the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston. We used the All My Love Designer Series Paper for our Make & Takes.

My pocket page was created with dies and no stamps. I used the Celebrate You Thinlits and Petals & More Thinlits to decorate one of the 4"x6" pockets. The large heart was cut from the designer series paper - I hand cut it with scissors but have discovered that the Be Mine Stitched Framelits has a heart die that will work with it!

The card I designed uses the Amazing Life stamp set. The flowers were hand cut while the main image was cut out using the Layering Oval framelits. A piece of Powder Pink 3/8" Mini Ruffled Ribbon completes the card.

Lisa designed the 12"x12" scrapbook page to showcase pictures from her son's birthday! I love that Otter stamp from the Hey Love stamp set and it works well with the pictures on the layout.

Out next all day crop will be Saturday February 23 in support of H'Art Kingston. Registration is closed for this crop but is open for our March crop on March 23rd in support of Marta's Table here in Kingston. Head over to Facebook to learn more and for the link to register: https://www.facebook.com/events/376893946209713/
