It's March and I'm still using Christmas inspired stamps and designer series paper! The main reason is to share with you that you can make a thankful card using the retiring Season's Blessings stamp set and Seasonal Basket dies and not make it Thanksgiving or Christmas related. The biggest choice you can make is when picking what colours you are going to create with. From the Tidings of Christmas designer series paper I chose Sahara Sand and Evening Evergreen. Then because it's spring I looked over the 10 colours in the Subtles Collection to see what would match. Sometimes I will stack the ink pads together to see what the colours look like but other times I'll pull pieces of cardstock from my file cabinet. Usually the cardstock is easier for me. From the Subtles this card has Calypso Coral and Soft Sea Foam. If you saw my card a few weeks ago you would've learned that Granny Apple Green is one of my least used colours and that applies to Calypso Coral too. Are there colours you won't use or have a hard time using?
Have you used a sketch before to create a card or scrapbook layout? Some sketches will have dimensions provided, like mine above, while others won't. You can peruse the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue for card designs. These won't have sizes but you can use any catalogues for inspiration. Perhaps you'll discover a new project design or even a colour combination that you can try.
Does this card make you think of Neapolitan Ice Cream? I can't have Neapolitan Ice Cream because one layer is strawberry and I'm allergic to strawberries! But that's ok, I love chocolate ice cream instead. What colours of ice cream would you make for the 3 scoops on this cone? You could even have sprinkles.
Have you ever bought a stamp set and die bundle thinking you would use it so much but then it sits there hardly used? I bought Stampin' Up!'s What's Cookin' bundle to spruce up my cook's organizer. Think only half a page was created <- click the link to see the page! lol
These scenes make me think back to when I was a teenager... Whew I wrote that out and wondered if I'm old enough to say "think back" or does that make me sound older than I am? lol But it reminds me when I would paint with my watercolours to create landscape scenes. I haven't made a watercolour painting in a long time. So when I spied the New Horizon designer series paper I knew it was being added to my collection. Now that I have it I almost don't want to use it! It's so pretty!
