I love attending Stampin' Up! events - there is so much energy and creativity! And I always come back with a ton of ideas. Saturday my mom, my downline Lisa and I spent the day with over 350 other demonstrators and a few Stampin' Up! employees. There were also some give aways too! Stampin' Up! is such a wonderful company!


This was one of the make and takes we did on Saturday. Four note cards and envelopes come packaged together and we made a pretty vellum cover for them all to fit into! Over the next little while I will be sharing more pictures from Hamilton and my swap cards!

I gave this card to my husband for his birthday. He liked the ripped paper and he said they looked like the rippled sand that we saw on our trip to PEI in June. To create the sand I started with Crumb Cake card stock and ripped a 2.5" wide piece in half, then layered the pieces onto the card front. To make the sand realistic I used the Colour Spritzer tool and a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker. The Pool Party piece is the negative of the Large Scallop Edgelit, distressed with Pool Party Ink Pad and Whisper White Craft ink to highlight the 'waves'.

I used the background stamp Pleasant Poppies and Pewter embossing powder to create this card. Then to highlight the flowers I used Whisper White craft ink (the lighter colour flowers) and Platinum Shimmer Paint, applied with a paint brush. I also used a Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker to highlight the stems.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians! It's been beautiful here in Ontario, hopefully the little bit of rain we are getting right now will clear up for the fireworks tonight! Spent the morning in Bath today watching the reenactment to celebrate the bicenntenial of the War of 1812: our British forces took back the village and drove the Americans into their boats!


It was so neat to be walking around Bath and hear gun fire coming from different parts of the village. Seeing all the Red and White today inspired me to make todays card.

There is a update to My Digital Studio to version 1.0.10. This update includes the 5 new 2012-2014 In Colors: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, and Midnight Muse.
There are two ways you can do the update:
1. Open up MDS on your computer, click help and then check for updates.
2. visit the MDS site here and download the update.


I used My Digital Studio to create this card. I am still unsure if I like the Summer Starfruit (the card base) new In Color, but it pairs well with Soft Suede. The blue outline is Midnight Muse and the image is filled in with Not Quite Navy.

Do you spot the fabric I used on the card? Instead of using a piece of designer series paper for the back drop of the card I used a piece of Twitterpatted Designer Fabric instead! I used a rotary cutter to trim the fabric to 5.25" x 4". Then to adhere the fabric to the card cut a piece of the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive and carefully position onto the card!

Remember this digital card I posted last week? Today I had a chance to print off a copy at home to make this hybrid card! I printed the image twice, once for the main image and the 2nd time so that the Thanks flag could be cut out with scissors and popped up with dimensionals.

I love using My Digital Studio for quick projects when I'm tired out from a long day and can still create something on my laptop! The above photo is a snap shot of the template card from the Summer Smooches Kit. I liked the layout but not the background Designer Series Paper and thought the flag punch would look better for the Thanks greeting.
The next step is to print the image on my own printer and make my own hybrid card to send to a friend!
