House in a Bulb!

December 17, 2011 in ,

There are so many things you can do with clear bulbs! Last year I used reinkers and dazzling diamonds glitter to make beautiful glittery bulbs for my Christmas tree. This year I decided to use a few of the left over bulbs to make some new ornaments - ones with circle inserts.
First you cut out a 2-1/2" circle from a Window Sheet, then stamp your choice of Christmas theme image onto the Window Sheet in Stazon Black. Then punch out a 2-1/2" circle of Big Shot Multipupose Adhesive Sheet and adhere to the back of the stamped window sheet. After peeling the cover off the adhesive now on the back of the Window sheet, sprinkle some glitter to make the image shine! Next pour a little glitter into the clear ornament and add some fake snow. Then roll up the stamped glittery image so that it will fit into the ornament's hole. After it's in the ornament it will pop back to a circle and it's like a ship in a bottle!

Star Ornaments

December 17, 2011 in ,

These acrylic stars were crying out for some extra love! I would have loved to use some White Stazon ink but I forgot to add that to my last order. So instead I pulled out the Versamark and pewter embossing powder. The Merry Christmas was stamped in Black Stazon on Vellum to make sure the ink did not smear when I was assembling the ornaments.

Supplies
Stamps: Christmas greeting, Winter Post
Ink: Versamark, Black Stazon
Paper: Vellum
Accessories: Pewter Embossing Powder, Glue Dots, Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon, Star ornaments

Repurposed Ornaments

December 12, 2011 in
My husband and I put up our tree last Thursday. Followed our now 3 year tradition to trek to the good olde Canadian Tire across the road from work and picked out a beautiful Fraser Fir for our living room!
While we were trimming the tree I came across these snowflakes that I bought about 10 years ago. They did have a rosette and some glittery ribbon on them but I have to agree with my husband they were hideous! So I pried off the hot glued hideousness and glammed them up with some ribbon, Jingle Bells and a little ivy! All with the help of some Glue Dots.
Supplies
Stamps: none
Ink: none
Paper: Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Glue Dots, Mini Jingle Bells, Retired Silver Cord, Snowflake ornament

Sending Wishes

December 11, 2011 in

Here's a tip to make things a little smoother: I have a stack of Very Vanilla and Whisper White Top Notes pre cut and ready for any card! Mostly I used these for the inside of my cards but they're great on the card front too! I keep these stacks in one clear mount stamp case. You can fit 2 big stacks of pre cut top notes to last a long time, or one stamp camp, which ever comes first!

So this card started with just a top note and the Christmas Lodge stamp set. The trees are stamped along the bottom, a few of them are stamped off on a scrap piece of paper first to get the lighter trees to give the card some dimension. To finish the top note, the greeting is embossed in black.

Supplies
Stamps: Christmas Lodge
Ink: Versamark, Certainly Celery
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon, Black Embossing Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Top Note Die
