Hello and welcome to February's Technique Tuesday Blog Hop! We are sharing die cutting techniques with you this month and I wanted to share how to use die cut images along with a Stampin' Spritzer filled with ink and rubbing alcohol to create your own unique pieces.
This technique is one that you could use the positive die cut image, like I have for this card or use the negative image for a reserve look! See below for steps on how you can create a spritzed image:
The first step is to mix the Garden Green Ink Refill with some rubbing alcohol. Usually I fill my Stampin' Spritzers 1/3 or half full then add 3-4 drops (a few more when its a lighter colour). Put the cap back on then shake. Do a few test spritzes first to see if it gives you the desired colour. For my card I've used the 2nd largest Stitched Nested dies shape but you could use a non die cut shape.
Step two: place the die cut leaves over the Stitched Nested shape die cut. For this example I used some tape to keep the pieces flat while I was taking pictures but when I made my card the leaves were not tapped down.
This is what the pieces look like after spritzing. Allow them to dry a bit. The alcohol will make the drying time short. On my card I glued one of the leaves behind the Stitched Nested die cut shape and added a few smaller die cut leaves that were cut from a Gold foil sheet.
