Welcome to August's Scrapbooking Global blog hop!
This month we are using the above sketch for our layouts!
My take on the sketch was to flip the sketch onto its side with the pictures at the bottom. I had the sketch photo saved on my phone and had the picture pulled up on the screen, then turned the phone around until I liked the look of how the rotated sketch. This helped me to visualize how to change up the design to work with my pictures.
These cake photos are from 2005. One cake made for Canada Day and the other just cause I had fresh raspberries! I had a hard time deciding what colours to use for my layout but decided to go with Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam, Real Red and Whisper White. The designer series paper is from the Playing With Patterns 6" x 6" DSP and the gems are the Wonderful Gems from the Aug-Dec Mini Catalogue. My husband thought they mimicked the raspberries and I agree! The stamped title and leaf are from the Banner Year photopolymer stamp set.

Oh Amanda, I love your sketch design moved from the side to the bottom, very clever. You cakes look fab and those 'raspberry jewels' are the finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, beautiful page and cake! Yes, you can't go wrong with Purple Posy. It's such a nice subtle purple that goes with everything. Love your interpretation of the sketch very much!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea to change the orientation - love the colours and cake
