Snowflakes!

December 06, 2011 in ,
Still no snow around here, thank goodness! I hate driving in the snow so it can stay away on days I have to go places. But I do hope that there will be some snow for Christmas, because it wouldn't be Christmas without snow!
Both of these cards are made using the same products, except one has rhinestones and the other pearls to show the difference that little embellishment makes to any card!
Supplies
Stamps: Four the Holidays, Serene Snowflakes
Ink: Night of Navy, Baja Breeze
Paper: Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Rhinestones and Pearls, Sticky Strip

Wearable Art!

December 03, 2011 in ,
The next Creative Crew challenge: create some wearable art! I've made a pendant strung onto a piece of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and made it using all four colours of my colour combo!

To make the pendant: cut 1/2" strips of card stock, score in half length wise and fold along score line. Starting with one colour, roll the folded piece of card stock around a skewer to start the roll. Then using a hot glue gun for adhesive, keep rolling around adding either the same colour again or switch colours as the pendant gets larger. I added a rhinestone to the centre to cover it up. A piece of bakers twine was used to link the pendant to the taffeta ribbon. There is a punched circle hot glued on the back to finish it.

Supplies
Stamps: none
Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade
Ink: none
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Rhinestone, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Glue Gun

Deck the Table!

December 02, 2011 in , ,
My second Creative Crew project for the Holiday Focus - home decorating! I love dressing up the dinning table at Christmas, even if it's only my husband and I. Oh and of course I used the following colour combination.
These poinsettias are very easy to make, their made from a leaf stamp from the French Foliage stamp set. I used 7 leaves to create each poinsettia.
For the plate: I cut a big circle out of Shimmer White card stock, added a strip of Garden Green card stock and a piece of Vellum punched with the scallop border punch (kinda hard to see it in this picture.), stamped the greeting in Garden Green and added a Poinsettia (with Dazzling Details in the centre of the flower).
For the napkin ring: The poinsettia with Rhinestones in the center, is attached to a ring of Shimmer White card stock.

For the Candle Holder: Used Glue Dots to attach a strip of Shimmer White around the glass holder. It also has a strip of Vellum punch with the Scallop Border Punch.

Stamps: French Foliage, Many Merry Messages
Paper: Shimmer White, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Vellum
Ink: Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Large Oval Punch, Dazzling Details, Clear Plate, Napkin, Glass candle holder

Happy December 1st! Join me this month as I count down the days until Christmas! I'll share some cards, MDS creations, tags, scrapbooking and so much more.

Today's card was one of my last of four projects for Splitcoast Stamper's Creative Crew. I look forward to the creative projects the new Crew will inspire us with next month. If you'd like to play along you can go here. This month all of our projects had to use the same colour combination of our own choosing. Oddly enough the first colour I picked was Poppy Parade. Not that I hate the colour, just that it was one of my least favs! Here is the combo I choose:
So back to the card. For our DSP/Color Focus our challenge was to use our colour combo with the supplied sketch. I substitute the tree for the big circle, the taffeta bow for one of the smaller circles and added a little hint of Poppy Parade circles behind the greeting!

Supplies
Stamps: Christmas Lodge
Ink: Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade
Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, Shimmer White
Accessories: Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, Itty Bitty Punch (circle), 2.5" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Snow Burst Impression Folder

The Christmas Countdown at the top of each post this month will come from the 25 and Counting Stamp Brush Set in My Digital Studio!
