lovely as a tree
Fall is my favourite time of year! Are you seeing signs of fall around your home? The leaves have been slowly changing here for awhile now, but I wish the colours would stay around far longer than they do.

After finally having some stamp time this past weekend with my mom, (we spread out on her dinning room table and made a big mess all afternoon!), I was able to do a demo challenge from Splitcoaststampers. And that is where today's Project Monday idea came from. These bags are cute and very simple to make.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: square button from Neutrals Assorted, linen thread, stampin dimensionals, chocolate chip ribbon, 1 1/4" circle punch

Project Monday

September 16, 2008
Okay where did the last week go? Oh right, trip to Ottawa, Mom doing round #5 of chemo, the start of a new girl guide/brownie year and last night's adventures! I'd say that is enough in one week to keep me busy!

Anyways, last night's project was a food related one instead of stamping.

My husband and I spent a few hours peeling, slicing, and canning 2 baskets of peaches. Something we have never done before! I am proud of us though and I cannot wait to eat them! Hopefully tomorrow I will have some stamping time, I sure miss it when I don't get to stamp or scrapbook.

Scrapping Wednesday

September 11, 2008 in
Okay still posting along here tonight before bed. These following pages are made using a retired simply scrappin' kit, but it's great for ideas. I have a hard time with 6"x6" pages, I want to have full pictures and they take up quite a bit of room! Oh well. I have been working on this scrapbook of the dog for quite awhile. I know, I know, who needs a scrapbook of their dog? Me of course!

Paper: Always Artichoke, River Rock (retired 2007 In Color), Basic Black
Accessories: Secret Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit (retired Fall/Winter 2007)

Colour Combo Tuesday

September 11, 2008 in ,
Okay so better late then never right? But no excuses, I will start where I left off, with Tuesday:

Colour Combo for today is: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Kraft and Very Vanilla
Stamps: Pocket Shilouettes, All Holidays
Paper: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Kraft and Very Vanilla
Ink: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Versamark and Basic Black
Accessories: silver brads, very vanilla grosgrain ribbon, flower fusion

Today I will continue on with the cards from the card folder that was in yesterday's post.

I like how simple but elegant this looks. In the folder I also included a stamped envelop along with both cards.

Directions for Snow card: The snowflakes along the right-hand side are embossed in white.

Directions for Thank You card: The ribbon started as whisper white grosgrain ribbon and was coloured in with a Bashful Blue marker

For both cards:
Stamps: Best Wishes & More, All Holidays
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper, Old Olive textured card stock
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Accessories: White embossing powder, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, stampin' dimensionals, button bouquet, Scalloped circle punch, Scalloped edge punch, Filigree Assortment designer brads
OK! I can finally post a new project I've been working on, a card folder. This uses a full sheet of 8.5"x11" paper and is super easy to make.

Score the paper at 5.25" the long side (11") and then at 2" the short side (8.5"). To make the pockets of the folder cut out a V underneath of the 2" score line.
You could use sticky strip or glue to adhere the side flaps as I have done, or attach a ribbon to tie the folder closed. See the last photo to see the inside of the folder.
Well I'm off for the night, I will post the 2 cards and directions for them tomorrow evening!

Stamps: Best Wishes and More, All Holidays
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper, Old Olive textured card stock
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Accessories: White embossing powder, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, stampin' dimensionals, button bouquet, glue dots, Scalloped circle punch, Scalloped edge punch

How's the layout?

September 06, 2008
Instead of stamping and creating the past few days I've been mixing up my blog layout and design. I've been thinking of going to 3 column lately and finally now it's here! A few more little things to do and then I can come back once I get some stamp time in. Happy Saturday to you all!

OK! This is how I did it:
Go over and check out this blog for directions, it helped me out quite a bit. Some modification to the html and voila! 3 Columns! Just remember to read all directions. I did most of the directions and then got all confused why the columns were not spaced evenly. Find out that I had forgotten to change something to "left"!

Scrappin' Wednesday

September 03, 2008 in
So just a note of caution, this following post is made with the recently retired Simply Scrappin' Kit Crew Kids Girl. All supplies other than envelopes and ribbon, oh and a brad too, were all included in the kit.

I love these colours together: Wild Wasabi (retired In Color), Regal Rose, Whisper White and Basic Grey.
The centre of the album is made gluing envelopes together to create pockets for card stock that can hold photos or memorabilia. The sticky die cuts are great to add dimension and make it really easy to put all this together. All that is left now is to give it away as a gift so that it can be used!

Edit: I've had a few people ask me for directions. After some time searching I found the website where I found this idea by Amy Celona. She her website for wonderful directions: http://www.ustamp4fun.com/ProjectGallery/6x6PhotoHolder.htm

Happy Labour Day!

September 01, 2008 in , ,
I hope everyone is enjoying an extra day off for this long weekend! Husband and I went camping, and such gorgeous weather we had. I can't wait to go back there to see all the leaves when they turn in 6 weeks on Thanksgiving weekend.
best wishes and more

I used my new stamps that arrived last week. This colour combination jumped out at me. I love it! Kiwi Kiss, Pink Passion, Taken with Teal and Whisper White. Oh and I guess we have to include Basic Black. The turquoise card comes out and the white stamped images are actually embossed with white embossing powder. Check out splitcoaststampers for a great tutorial!
