Ahoy Matey!

January 31, 2008 in
Yarr! Hoist the Joly Roger, this lass is a landlubber! (Means I'm someone who is not used to life aboard a ship). Okay, call me crazy now! I've been couped up in the house to long while it's -49 outside.
Today's card was made for Monday's Technique Challenge at SplitcoastStampers.com. This is a one layer wheelie card, using the Matey's Map Jumbo wheel. I used large post-it notes to mask the top and bottom of the card so that I could sponge in the colour of the map. The mountain tops were coloured in with a white Gel pen. And I just had to use my new 1 3/8" circle punch to have a window to see the parrot.
Stamps: Ahoy Matey, Matey's Map Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Garden Green
Paper: Very Vanilla
Accessories: White Gel pen, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

Thinking of You

January 30, 2008 in
Thought I'd share another card we made at the Stamp Camp last Saturday, tomorrow I'll add a picture of the vellum lampshades that was our 3rd project.

The Embrace Life stamp set is very pretty, I like how simple this card is without having too much extras on it. The Always Artichoke band has Always Artichoke ribbon adhered to it with Sticky Strip. I've coloured in the flowers using a blender pen and Groovy Guava ink. It would be great if Stampin' Up! brought out the In Colours in markers!

Stamps: Embrace Life, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Always Artichoke, Groovy Guava
Paper: River Rock, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon, Sticky Strip
With a winter blizzard blowing outside and my cold finally over with I can finally get a chance to post another card!

I held a Stamp Camp on Saturday where we made sympathy or thinking of you cards. This is one of them. I got this idea from the Splitcoaststampers website, sorry cannot remember who! But I love this design, simple and elegant. The flowers are created by inking up the stamp once and stamping twice. The second time the flowers are stamped it creates a lighter image. Inside the card is a verse stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink with the same flowers that are one the front.
Stamps: Close As A Memory
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Basic Black and Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Brads, Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals

Scrapbook Page

January 13, 2008 in
This scrapbook page was created at one of my first workshops as a demonstrator. My dog, an American cooker spaniel, is the subject of this page. I definitely have too many pictures of him! But who else am I to take pictures of besides my husband?
I used the now retired Simply Scrappin' Kit: Secret Garden as the base for this layout. The background is textured River Rock 12x12 card stock from the kit and I used the sturdy self-adhesive die cuts. These die cutes are better than stickers, they are really simple and easy to use. The background behind the pictures is made using my favourite (yet again!) So Swirly Jumbo wheel.

stamps: So Swirly Jumbo wheel, Typeset Lowercase Alphabet (retired)
paper: whisper white, basic black, River Rock textured card stock
ink: Always Artichoke
accessories: Basic Black Stampin' Write Journalers, black brad, Simply Scrappin' Kit Secret Garden

A Sunny Hello!

January 12, 2008 in
Well it might not be sunny outside at the moment, but this card will perk up any cloudy day! I've used my favourite stamp set and Jumbo wheel. I thought the Summer Sun would be too bright of a colour but I like the combination with the Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: Pick A Petal, Short & Sweet, So Swirly Jumbo wheel
Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Summer Sun, Yo-yo Yellow, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: silver brads
