Father's Plane

January 29, 2011 in ,
This card would be perfect for my dad for Father's Day except I showed it to him already! Growing up my dad took flying lessons and achieved his pilots license! I remember going flying with him a few times, watching the little houses and seeing my little corner of country from way up high!

Inspiration came from Splitcoaststampers January Creative Crew Challenge. The challenge was to use new items from the Occasions Mini catalogue. Plane and Simple was the perfect place to start! The compass is embossed in black and I cut the Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon in half, then pulled a few strings off to get that frayed edge. The dashes and triangle border had Bashful Blue then Not Quite Navy ink put onto the stamp before stamping.

Supplies
Stamps: Plane and Simple
Ink: Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Versamark
Paper: Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, First Edition Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Night of Navy 1-1/4" grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip, stampin' dimensionals, word window punch, Black embossing powder
